よくある間違い

• ✕ This instructions are hard to understand.

  ○ These instructions are hard to understand.

  複数形の名詞 instructions には、this ではなく these を使う。

• ✕ The explanation is hard understanding.

  ○ The explanation is hard to understand.

  「理解しにくい」という意味の hard は、通常 hard to understand の形で使う。「hard understanding」はこの意味では使えない。

• ✕ The rule are hard to understand.

  ○ The rule is hard to understand.

  単数の主語 rule には、are ではなく is を使う。
