「無情さ」の英語
「無情さ」は英語で callousness と言います。人の苦しみへの配慮のなさには callousness が最も自然です。coldness は人の態度の冷たさや、気温の低さにも使えます。

語源
callousnessは、形容詞callous（ラテン語callosus「硬い皮膚」由来）に接尾辞-nessが付いて名詞化され、感情が硬く配慮に欠ける意味で用いられるようになった。

人に対する無情さを表す場合は、前置詞に toward を使うのが自然です。
× His coldness always means he is cruel.
○ His coldness may show emotional distance, but it does not always mean cruelty.
coldness は感情的な距離や態度の冷たさも表し、必ずしも残酷さではありません。
