婉曲に

「婉曲に」の英語

「婉曲に」は英語で euphemistically と言います。相手を傷つけないよう、表現を柔らかくする場合に使います。単に遠回しな言い方なら indirectly、配慮を強調するなら in a tactful way も使えます。

euphemistically
相手への配慮や印象を和らげるため、婉曲な表現を使う場合に用います。
The doctor explained the illness euphemistically to the child.
医師は子どもに病気のことを婉曲に説明しました。
indirectly
直接言わず、遠回しに伝える一般的な言い方です。
During the interview, she indirectly suggested that the plan needed further review.
面接で彼女は、その計画にはさらなる検討が必要だと婉曲に示しました。
diplomatically
相手の立場や感情に配慮し、問題を角が立たないように伝える表現です。
The manager diplomatically addressed concerns about the team's communication.

要点を直接言わず、回りくどく伝えるくだけた表現です。

euphemisticallyは、名詞euphemism（婉曲表現）に由来し、語根の意味を保ったまま副詞化して「婉曲に」という用法になった
