「身体表現性障害」の英語

「身体表現性障害」は英語で somatoform disorder と言います。医学用語で、心理的な要因が身体症状として現れるタイプの障害を指します。診断基準によっては、関連する現在の用語として somatic symptom disorder などが使われることもあります。

心理的要因と関連する身体症状を特徴とする障害を指す医学用語で、身体表現性障害の標準的な英訳です。
The patient was diagnosed with a somatoform disorder after a thorough evaluation.
その患者は、綿密な評価の後に身体表現性障害と診断されました。

The doctor diagnosed her with a psychosomatic disorder after ruling out physical causes.

医師は身体的原因を除外した後、彼女を心身症と診断した。

心身症は心理的要因が身体症状として現れる状態を指す

psychosomatic disorderは、ギリシャ語psyche（心）とsoma（身体）を組み合わせたpsychosomaticに、障害を表すdisorderが付いて心と体の結び付きによる症状を指す語となった。
