「象形文字」の英語
「象形文字」は英語で hieroglyph と言います。古代エジプトの文字ならこれが基本で、絵で物や情報を表す記号は pictograph、意味を図で表す表意文字は ideogram と使い分けます。

hieroglyphは単数形で、複数ならhieroglyphsにします。

文字体系や複数の文字を表す場合は、通常は複数形のhieroglyphsを使います。
