「興味を刺激する」の英語

「興味を刺激する」は英語で stimulate interest と言います。spark interest は興味を引き起こす自然でややくだけた表現、pique interest は興味をかき立てるやや硬めの表現です。企画や記事の説明にも使えます。

stimulate interest
経済や成長、興味などを活性化する硬めの表現です。

stimulate: 反応や活動を引き起こす・刺激する
encourage: 行動や努力を促す
motivate: やる気や目的を与えて行動させる
excite: 強い興奮や感情を引き起こす

stimulateは、ラテン語stimulus（刺激を与える棒や突き物）から来て、動詞stimulare「刺激する」を経て英語で「～を刺激する」の意味になった

経済や興味、身体の反応を活性化する意味で使われ、新聞や教科書では stimulate demand や stimulate interest のように目的語を伴って現れることが多い
