論証者

「論証者」の英語

「論証者」は英語で reasoner と言います。論理学や演繹に限定する場合は deductive reasoner と説明できますが、syllogizer は非常に専門的でまれな語です。

deductive reasoner
前提から結論を導く人を説明的に表す、比較的分かりやすい表現です。
A deductive reasoner checks each premise before accepting a conclusion.
演繹的に考える人は、結論を受け入れる前に各前提を確認します。
reasoner
論理的に考えて結論を出す人を広く指す語ですが、日常会話ではやや硬めです。
She is a careful reasoner who considers all the evidence.
彼女は、あらゆる証拠を検討する慎重な推論者です。
syllogizer
三段論法を組み立てる人を指す、非常に専門的でまれな語です。
The syllogizer arranged the premises in a logical order.
その三段論法の論者は、前提を論理的な順序に並べました。
arguer
議論や主張を展開する人を広く指す語で、論理的な論証者に限りません。
A skilled arguer supports every claim with clear evidence.
議論の上手な人は、すべての主張を明確な証拠で裏付けます。

三段論法を組み立てる人として彼女はしばしば前提を整理して結論に至る。

syllogizerは、ギリシャ語のsullogismos（推論を集めること）に由来するsyllogismと動作を表す接尾辞-izerの結合に基づく造語で、演繹的な推論者を指す。

proof person は英語として不自然で、人を表す一般的な言い方ではありません。
× She is a syllogizer in daily conversation.

○ She is a reasoner.

syllogizer は専門的でまれなので、日常的な文脈では reasoner のほうが適切です。
