重度失語

「重度失語」の英語

「重度失語」は英語で severe aphasia と言います。医学・言語聴覚療法の文脈では profound aphasia も使われますが、global aphasia は重度の一病型を指します。impressive aphasia は古い文献中心の表現です。

severe aphasia
重度の失語を広く表す、最も基本的で一般的な表現です。
The patient has severe aphasia after the stroke.
その患者は脳卒中後に重度の失語症があります。
profound aphasia
障害が極めて重いことを強調する医学的な表現です。
She was diagnosed with profound aphasia after the accident.
彼女は事故後、極めて重い失語と診断されました。

古い文献では、臨床医が深刻な言語障害を重度失語と表現することがあった。

重度失語：言語の障害が極めて強く日常会話や理解が著しく困難な状態を指す

impressive aphasiaは、impressiveの「強い印象」を伴う語感とaphasiaを結びつけた表現で臨床的に言語機能の著しい低下を示す古い用語として使われた
