In adults, hematopoiesis mainly occurs in the bone marrow.
blood cell formation

The biological process by which blood and blood cells are produced, occurring during embryonic development and in adult bone marrow.

The continuous process by which hematopoietic stem cells differentiate into red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

The process by which blood cells are produced, especially in the bone marrow, through differentiation of precursor cells.
The formation and differentiation of blood cells from hematopoietic stem cells, covering production of red and white blood cells and platelets.
Researchers study hemogenesis in embryos to understand blood cell development.
The process by which blood cells are produced, especially during embryonic development and within hematopoietic organs.
