「資料集」の英語
「資料集」は英語で reference book と言います。複数の資料をまとめて指す場合は reference materials、データや統計を集めた資料集なら data book とも言えます。

学習や調査で参照する解説・データなどをまとめた本に使います。

本に限らず、調査や仕事で参照する複数の資料を指します。
resource book
学習や活動に役立つ情報・資料をまとめた本を指します。一般的な「資料集」よりも、教材や実用書の意味合いが出ることがあります。
data book
数値や統計などのデータをまとめた資料集を指す、やや専門的な表現です。

語源
book of factsは、book（本）＋of＋facts（事実）という語構成から文字通り「事実を載せた本」を表し、参照用の書籍を指す表現になった
