「訴訟代理人」の英語

「訴訟代理人」は英語で litigation attorney と言います。より短く言う場合は litigator も使えますが、attorney は訴訟に限らず弁護士全般を指します。legal counsel は主に企業などの法律顧問や担当弁護士を指す表現です。

attorney
弁護士全般を指す基本的な表現で、訴訟代理人の意味でも使えますが、訴訟専門とは限りません。
The attorney represented the client in court.
その弁護士は法廷で依頼人の代理を務めました。
litigation attorney
訴訟を担当し、裁判で依頼人を代理する弁護士を明確に指す表現です。
We consulted a litigation attorney about the lawsuit.
私たちはその訴訟について訴訟担当の弁護士に相談しました。
legal counsel
企業などの法律顧問や担当弁護士を指し、法的助言を行う立場を表します。訴訟代理人に限る表現ではありません。
The company asked its legal counsel to review the agreement.
その会社は法律顧問に契約書の確認を依頼しました。
litigator
訴訟を専門に扱い、依頼人を法廷で代理する弁護士を指す一般的な表現です。
The company hired a litigator to represent it in court.
その会社は法廷で代理を務めてもらうため、訴訟専門の弁護士を雇いました。

会社は契約書を精査するために弁護士を雇った。

依頼人に法的助言を行い、必要に応じて代理を務める専門職としての弁護士

counselor-at-lawは、counsel（助言する者）とat law（法律上）を結びつけた表現で、法的助言と代理を行う者を示す肩書きとして用いられるようになった

counselor は一般に相談員やカウンセラーを指し、弁護士の意味にはなりません。
× The lawyer did the lawsuit for the company.

○ The litigation attorney represented the company in the lawsuit.

訴訟を担当することは do the lawsuit とは言わず、represent the company in the lawsuit などと表現します。
