「曲解」の英語
「曲解」は英語で misinterpretation と言います。文や発言などを本来の意味とは違うように解釈することを表します。意図的に意味を歪める場合は distortion とも言えます。

× He made a misunderstanding of my words.
○ He misinterpreted my words.
misunderstanding は通常 make と組み合わせてこのようには使わず、「私の言葉を曲解した」は misinterpret my words と言うのが自然です。
