「脅し」の英語
「脅し」は英語で threat と言います。人からの脅しだけでなく、病気や災害などの脅威にも使えます。相手に圧力をかけて決定を変えさせるなら arm-twisting が使えます。

人を脅すという動作は、名詞より動詞 threaten を使うのが自然です。
× The storm threatened to the town.
○ The storm threatened the town.
threaten を動詞として使う場合、人や場所を直接目的語に取ります。threat を名詞で使うなら pose a threat to the town の形にします。
