The condition in which timing or measurement becomes unreliable because a system lingers between states, causing synchronization failures in digital systems when signals change near clock transitions
The circuit may show metastability if the signal changes at the wrong time.
Engineers reduce the risk of metastability by using two synchronizing stages.
The report identifies metastability as a possible source of system errors.
Could metastability be causing this problem?
× The circuit has semi-stability.
○ The circuit has metastability.
