「重要でないこと」の英語

「重要でないこと」は英語で lack of importance と言います。名詞としては unimportance もありますが、やや硬く使用頻度が低い表現です。日常会話やビジネスでは、not important や insignificant が一般的です。

not important
日常会話からビジネスまで幅広く使える、最も基本的な表現です。
This detail is not important to our decision.
この細部は私たちの決定には重要ではありません。
insignificant
事柄や差などが取るに足りないと、やや客観的に述べます。
The cost difference was insignificant for the project.
その費用の差は、プロジェクトにとって取るに足りませんでした。
of little importance
重要度が低いことを表す、やや硬めの書き言葉です。
The error was of little importance to the final outcome.
その誤りは、最終的な結果にとっては重要度の低いものでした。
not a big deal
日常会話で、たいしたことではないとくだけて言う表現です。
Don’t worry about it; it’s not a big deal.
心配しないでください。たいしたことではありません。

We agreed on the unimportance of the outdated file and removed it.

私たちは古いファイルが重要でないことに同意し、それを削除した。

小さく注目に値しない性質や事柄で、扱う価値が低いことを表す

unimportanceは、un-（否定）とimportance（重要性）が合わさって形成され、importanceは古フランス語・ラテン語を経て英語に入った語に由来する。

unimportanceは名詞なので、be動詞の後で形容詞のようには使いません。
× It is no importance.

○ It is not important.

重要でない状態を表すには、形容詞のimportantを使うのが自然です。
