「軍事態勢」の英語

「軍事態勢」は英語で military posture と言います。軍の配備や戦力の準備、抑止に関する国の全体的な構えを表し、ニュースや外交でよく使われます。物理的な配備にも政策上の構えにも使えます。

military postureは、'military'がラテン語militarisを経て「軍に関する」を表し、'posture'はラテン語ponere（置く）由来の語が中英語・フランス語を経て「配置・姿勢」を意味する語として結びついた表現。
