聴神経
「聴神経」の英語
「聴神経」は英語で auditory nerve と言います。解剖学的に正確に述べる場合、聴覚を担う部分は cochlear nerve、聴覚と平衡感覚を担う第八脳神経全体は vestibulocochlear nerve と言います。acoustic nerve も使われますが、auditory nerve より一般的ではありません。
「聴神経」の英語の使い分け
音を耳から脳へ伝える神経を指す、最も一般的な表現です。
聴神経を指す語ですが、auditory nerve より使用頻度が低く、医学・解剖学では cochlear nerve などの語が選ばれることもあります。
