「現状維持の」は英語で maintaining the status quo と言います。政治やビジネスの方針には status quo や a policy of maintaining the status quo もよく使われ、日常会話では keeping things as they are が自然です。

standpatは、ポーカー用語stand pat（手札を交換せずそのまま戦う）から派生し、そこから方針や態度を変えない意味になった。
