公益団体
「公益団体」の英語
「公益団体」は英語で nonprofit organization と言います。利益を株主などに分配しない組織を指し、慈善団体に限らず幅広い団体に使えます。日本のNPO法人と完全に同じ意味ではありません。

語源
nonprofit organizationは、nonprofit（利益を目的としない）とorganization（組織）が組み合わさった語で、non-が否定を表しprofitは金銭的利益を指すため「利益を目的としない組織」という意味になった。
