弱化剤

「弱化剤」の英語

「弱化剤」は英語で weakening agent と言います。材料の強度や硬さを和らげる添加物を指し、用途に応じて softener、plasticizer、diluent などを使い分けます。

weakenerは、動詞weaken（弱める）に作用者・道具を示す接尾語-erが付いて「〜を弱めるもの＝弱化剤」の意になった語。
