「商業施設」の英語
「商業施設」は英語で commercial facility と言います。店なら shop や store、複数の店が集まる施設なら shopping center が自然です。mercantile establishment は硬く、法律文書や歴史的文章などに限られます。

「商業施設」を英語にするときのよくある間違い

○ We visited a commercial facility.
commerce は商業という概念を表す名詞で、施設を修飾する形では通常使いません。
× I went to a shop center to buy some snacks.
○ I went to a shopping center to buy some snacks.
shop center は一般的な表現ではなく、複数の店舗が集まる施設は shopping center と言います。
