「まとまりのない文」の英語

「まとまりのない文」は英語で disjointed sentence と言います。話が長く要点が分かりにくい場合は rambling sentence、論理的につながっていない場合は incoherent sentence も使えます。文章論で累積文を指す場合は loose sentence という専門用語を使います。

「まとまりのない文」を英語にするときのよくある間違い

× The sentence is not unity.

○ The sentence is disjointed.

unity はこのように be 動詞の補語として使えません。「まとまりのない」は disjointed で表せます。
× I wrote a loose writing.

○ I wrote a disjointed sentence.

writing はこの意味の可算名詞として使えず、loose sentence も一般的な「まとまりのない文」の訳ではありません。文そのものを指すなら disjointed sentence が自然です。
