音圧
「音圧」の英語
「音圧」は英語で sound pressure と言います。音波による圧力の変動を指す技術用語で、音源が単位時間に放出する音響エネルギーを表す acoustic power とは区別します。音圧を対数で表した値は sound pressure level と言います。

音圧は「大きくなる」のではなく「高くなる」「増加する」と表現します。音が大きくなる場合は、The sound became louder. と言います。

○ We measured the sound pressure with a microphone.
マイクで測定するのは通常、観測地点の音圧です。acoustic power は音源が単位時間に放出する音響エネルギーで、別の指標です。
