モン語
「モン語」の英語
「モン語」は英語で Hmong と言います。Hmong language とも言います。Mon language は別の言語で、ミャンマーなどで話されるモン語を指すため、混同しないようにしましょう。

語源
Hmong languageは、民族自身の自称hmong／mongに由来し、語頭のHが発音されないことが多く英語表記Hmongに至った歴史がある。
