From enjoying learning
to creating it.

Astran builds language-learning apps.
Across three roles — engineering, design, and growth —
we're looking for people who want to make learning fun and easy to use with us.

Learning words, practicing conversation.

A team that builds, ships,
and keeps improving.

We handle everything ourselves, from planning and developing the apps to design, marketing, and operations.
Each of us brings our own expertise, and we improve the apps by listening to users and looking at how they're used.

Start by deciding what to build

We look beyond the task in front of us and ask whose problem we're solving. After building or creating something, we check how it actually reached users.

Check quality through users' eyes

In development and design, we try things ourselves to check how easy they are to use and how polished they feel. We ask whether learners can enjoy them without getting lost, and review the small details.

Bring our expertise together

We're a small team, so talking and coordinating with other roles is part of the job. We agree on roles and priorities so everyone's work moves forward smoothly.

Working style and compensation

For details such as employment type, salary, work location and how often you'd come into the office, and working hours, please contact our recruiting team. You're welcome to share your preferences and ask before applying.

Astran's Purpose and Ten Principles

Raise the happiness and sustainability
of humanity through innovation.

To do that, we build innovative learning services and bring them to people around the world.
We hold to this purpose and to the following ten values.

  1. Bring qualitative change to the world

Beyond expanding what already exists, we create value that didn't exist before. We aim for experiences that change how people see things.

  2. Inspire

We want to deliver experiences that move people, like seeing a breathtaking view or a great work of art. We value that feeling in the services we build.

  3. Pursue the essence

We understand principles and cause and effect, and think from many angles. While questioning our own views, we keep asking what truly needs to be done.

  4. Value the flow

Money, people, and knowledge create value when they connect. We look not only at gathering resources, but at ways of working and relationships that put them to use.

  5. Development with love

We see profit as a means to realize our vision, and aim for the progress of humanity. We care that advances in technology lead to a brighter future for people.

  6. Create value and share it

We create new value and share it with those around us. We believe celebrating and supporting each other's success also expands our own potential.

  7. Commit to results

We value the results we create, not just the amount of effort. We see things through and take on hard challenges with passion.

  8. Be self-disciplined

Each of us keeps our own discipline and thinks and acts for ourselves. Through that, we build an organization that doesn't rely too much on detailed rules.

  9. Set your soul on fire

What do you want to do? What kind of life do you want to lead? We value facing ourselves, finding what we truly want to work on, and acting on it.

  10. Very long

We want our services, culture, and community to last. Alongside short-term results, we ask whether the value will remain over the long run.

Before you decide to apply,
here's what we'd like you to know.

A casual interview is a way to learn about the work and the team. You can talk with us even if you haven't decided to apply.

We'll hear about the role and working style you're hoping for and your experience so far, and talk about how you might work with us.

I'm not sure which role fits me.

Tell us what you're good at and what kind of work interests you. You don't need to pick a single role before talking with us.

Do I need experience in every area?

Each role page lists a wide range of the work that role touches. We don't expect one person to handle all of it. We'll decide your scope based on your experience and interests.

What can we talk about in a casual interview?

Our business, the work itself, current challenges, the people you'd work with, working style, compensation — whatever you want to know to make your own decision.

What if I want to apply?

Email us and say you'd like to apply. Our team will tell you which documents we need and how the selection process works.

Just want to hear more?
That's welcome too.

We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in working at Astran.
