I can't take this on.
When to use it
Refusal to accept a task because of lack of capacity. Used to politely decline when overloaded, often followed by offering an alternative or requesting a later deadline.

Te asigné este proyecto, ¿puedes encargarte?
I assigned you this project; can you take this on?
No puedo encargarme ahora mismo; tengo demasiado trabajo, lo siento.
I can't take this on right now; I have too much work, I'm sorry.
